I'm posting about my friends Hylgard and Charlien Lourens, parents of two. I've done a couple of shoots for them in the past, here is their last shoot. In February this year I met new born, Nicolien Lourens, she has grown a couple of inches now and got a bubbling personality with the new inches. I'm so glad we got to do this shoot, do yourself a favour and go see how much Nicolien has grown in just 5 months, the saying They grow up so quickly is there for a reason. In the first couple of years of your child's life it is important to capture them as much as you can. We did a family shoot with grandmothers Linda and Roelien and grandpa Willem (if you ask me, they don't look like grandparents at all) and last but not least, a little cutie called Simone ;) I had so much fun capturing these moments, I struggled a bit choosing the photos for the blog - there were a lot more I wanted to post, and I apologize for uploading so many at once, but I HAD TOO - I just love these shots. Sascha & Uschi ~ Trash the Dress ~ Vienna

The second part of the session. It was a really beautiful day in Vienna, first we went to the church where Sascha & Uschi got married one year ago. Then to the train station near their home - and from there we went to the historical parts of city centre. It was gorgeous! Thank you for the great day I got to spend with you guys.

Luca Part 2

Luca pulls the cutest little faces, it is so adorable! And when he sleeps he is so peaceful, when you see him you just know why one says I slept like a baby. I photographed Luca, his grandmother, Patricia, life partner Jozi and their dogs. Patricia and Jozi owns a reptile store, the are animal lovers - Tanya, Luca's mom had 2 lizards in her house, luckily they were behind glass (unfortunately I am not too fond of lizards - bad experience - a gecco fell on me once, eeeeeck!)

Tanya & Roger baptized their son, Luca on the 23rd of May 2010. Family and friends joined for the occasion at a stunning Catholic church in Vienna. Luca is such a gorgeous boy and looked so cute in his little outfit. After the ceremony, everyone went to Tanya's fathers' restaurant to celebrate, the detail for Luca's day was done perfectly and I even had the privilege to photograph him a couple of days later.

The Hauke Family part 2

Here is the second part of the Hauke's family photos, this was the day after the Baptism. We went to a storage location next to a train rail. It was raining before we went to location, so first we took a couple of photos of the little man of the day, Christopher - what a happy baby, he has stunning humble eyes.

The Hauke family are, Ernst & Tina, with their 4 children, Matthias (the only son) with his wife Alexandra and son Christoper, and his three sisters; Katharina and her partner Andreas, Roswitha (known to everybody as Rose and or Hayley ;) and the youngest of the lot, Verena (I know what it is like to be a part of a cresch this big - fortunately for my I grew up being the only daughter, yes, spoiled rotten...and the bully in the house).

The Hauke Family are truly fantastic people and made me feel at home from the moment I walked through the door. Thank you for your kindness, hospitality and great heart(s)...oh and for the cookies and present ;) I hope you come and visit me soon in South Africa.

Matthias & Alexandra baptized their 6month old son, Christopher, on the 22nd of May 2010. It was a small group of their closest family and friends that witnessed the day with them.

Okay, wow, this week went by so fast, I wanted to start blogging on monday, but looks like Thursday is the only day I got round to it, finally here we go with the Austria shoots. The day I landed I had my first shoot - jet lag and all, only kidding, I flew business class from Dubai to Austria and felt like a queen, well rested and well fed. Paul, Kornelia and Simon live in a suburb just outside Vienna. Paul is a Fireman, Kornelia is a travel agent, Paul met Kornelia at her work and couldn't get her out of his mind, so he went back and asked her on a date and so began their beautiful journey. A few years later and this cute little guy, Simon came along and you can see that they are so in LOVE with him! Simon is a cutie, he is so beautiful and looks like those dolls with the adorable little outfits. I had so much fun photographing this blue-eyed family.

Kobus & Romy Lourens

So just after my return from America I went to the Lowveld to do some sessions with people I've known almost all my life. This week I will be showing you their photos. I know its already Wednesday, but my week has been hectic with trying to get my stuff together for Austria, so I'll try as hard as I can to blog as much as I can. First, meet Kobus and Romy, they are high school sweethearts, they were in Hoërskool Nelspruit in the Lowveld with me :) they have been married for 4 years, and now they have a new addition to their family, meet little Kobus jnr. He has the bluest eyes and doesn't really like wearing a dress ;) he is such a cutie pie. The weekend before I photographed their little family, they had his Christening. Kobus jnr's Christening dress has been in the Lourens family for over a 100 years - WOW! I hope it will last another century (HANDWASH ONLY).
