Sjoei, feels like ages since I last blogged! So glad to be back home with my dog Rambo and my family, I had an amazing time in Austria and have so much to blog that it’s not even funny. If you bare with me, you might be lucky enough to see two blogs per day, now, I’m not promising anything…but lets hope :)
Hendrik & Michelle, friends of mine, got married in Potchefstroom on Friday, 30 April at the Feather Hill Spa. Their engagement session can be viewed here. The week was extremely busy, as I had been in Mpumalanga for nearly 2 weeks, I went from Malelane all the way to Potchefstroom and the next day returned to Nelspruit for Lyle and Lindi’s wedding…that is coming up next – the day after that I had to return to Gauteng to finish up some work, covering about 1500km in 2 days. Brutal, but well worth the distance. What a wedding! Let me introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. de Beer! You guys looked amazing on your wedding day and I’m so glad I got to be apart of it. The booth will be up shortly.

I have wanted to post about Tasyan for a while now, but I couldn’t write about her, it still hurts when I think about her, she was so young, she was beautiful inside and out, she had a stunning soul.
I saw her 3 days before she died in a tragic car accident, March 2009. I saw her at my mothers’ 50th Birthday party, it had been a while since I had seen her, so we caught up almost the whole night. I’ve known her for so long, I was 2 years older than her, but throughout our school years (from kindergarden till high school) we were always good friends. Before my mom’s party it had been 4 years since I last saw her, in England, whilst I was doing a Final Cut course and visiting friends. It was at a braai with a couple of friends, her brother Kyle was visiting her, and I was so glad to see them both, it felt like I was back in my home town with old friends. I took some photos at the braai and stored them on my ipod that was formatted accidentally without me having to back up. Every time I look at the ipod I think of her, because I can still view the thumbnail photos on the ipod, but I cant get the actual high res photos.

Ek is tannie Zi se beste vriendin en ek kan vir jou sê dat dit soveel vir tannie Zi en Oom Kobus beteken. Kyle het begin huil toe hy dit lees en die foto van hom en taz sien. Dit is pragtige fotos. Baie dankie vir die mooi hulde blyk ons mis haar vreeslik.
Ons mooiste lugstraaltjie is weg maar danksy aan fotos en die mooiste gedagtes kan ons met trane in ons oe nog die liefde sien en voel. Dankie ons mis haar ontsettend baie, ek sal seker nou altyd moemfie bly nadat tassie my so gedoop het.
Ek weet nie een van ons sal ooit vir Tassie vergeet nie! Wonderlik om sulke mooi foto’s en herinneringe te kan hê om aan vas te hou!

Another friend that I’ve known all my life, Anlie :)
She is an awesome friend, one you treasure for life. We’ve known each other for so long, and we get together every now and then when I visit my parents in Malelane. I was so psyched to hear that Anlie and Werner are pregnant, and I keep regular tabs on my friends and their little Xander thats on the way. She’s almost due – a couple more weeks :) Can’t wait!!! Anlie was a ballet dancer, so I kind of forced her into her leotard and points to do something I’ve never done before. She thought I was crazy, but she knows me – believe me, this comes from wrestling on the top bunker bed in our high school hostel – I wont tell you what happened afterwards, it comes from laughing so hard together that you cannot stop…and you wet your pants :D – that happened to me (I’m starting to see a pattern here where every time I end up with something horrible that happens to me – no comment on the wrestling thing)…it comes from years of friendship and knowing what you can get away with;) it makes for good stories to tell everytime you see each other again. Thank you Anlie, for allowing me to get to do this. I absolutely love this series.
Oh and also, thank you to Werner, he is very camera shy, so forcing him to take photos for 10 min was extremely hard.

Giulio and Rene, highschool sweethearts, perfect match and beautiful couple.
WOW! what do you say about a couple that takes in rain as a blessing and when it’s cold, warms up the day by enjoying their day with friends and family, complaining only about how short the day is. Things like this is what makes it all worth while! Rene stood with Giulio in the rain, just to get awesome pictures, she did not once complain – that is rare with brides – they are always concerned about dresses or hair, but Rene is not a normal bride. Not once did the rain get her down, in fact, I think it might have encouraged her to be more playfull :)
When things like this happen, it’s really good to see what a couples’ response is to the situation, it shows how they will treat problems in life, I think Giulio and Rene is going to take each problem as a challenge and show that they are too strong to be brought down, together they are AWESOME!
