I shot Danie & Eloise’s e-session at the end of last year. They were my first 2010 wedding… and WOW!!! what a way to kick start my year. Their wedding was in Clarens, Free State at the Oranje Guest Farm . If you haven’t been there yet, go for a weekend, the scenic route is fantastic if you drive through the Golden Gate Park and the town/village has the same charm as Dullstroom (totally amazing). But even more amazing…this wedding, I found it so hard to choose, so everyone is in for a treat :) hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do. My brother, Stefan, was my assistant photographer. He is only doing it as a hobby, but I have to tell you for someone that only started doing this last year, he’s pretty darn good.

In December I did a shoot for my cousin, Charlotte. She is so beautiful and energetic and I just love that she wanted to get some photos of herself, we are constantly bombarded by Magazine covers with beautiful airbrushed girls and woman, and we always think that we are not pretty enough to get photos of ourselves, well people, being natural is prettier than airbrushed covergirls with no pores…really! I think it is wonderful to get photos taken of yourself, I got some taken of myself by Adele Cabanillas about a week ago – but more on that later in the week.
So why get a professional photographer to take your photos? We all need to document our lives whilst we’re still young. If I look at my baby photos I always wish my parents took me to a professional photographer, its so different to snapshots. People normally get professional photos done of their first born and then when the next kid comes they normally never do the same, they buy a camera and think they will take the photos, which is good, but its 100 times better to get some shots taken of you and your family at least once a year by a professional, especially if you think you are not photogenic or pretty, professional photographers know how to get that perfect image. And one day, when you are old and gray, you can look at your photos and appreciate it with your family members. I will do a post soon on how important photos can be, I found an old batch of photos in my grandmothers house, some photos date back to the 1800′s…

Hi everyone! I’m back….hopefully. Its been a while since I blogged and I really hope this wont become a habbit, been super busy after the holidays and trying to catch up with all the work. And yes, I still have some work to blog from last year.
Tamara phoned me the week before I was going on holiday and asked to take some photos of their vows ceremony held at their house before they go and do the big ‘do’ in Durban a week later. Of course I said yes :) I love weddings and being one of 5 people at the ceremony was so special for me(I even got to sign as a witness).
